FLORIDA:
Florida bill to arm college professors, staff faces opposition
“A dozen student and faculty organizations joined forces in a letter to the Florida Legislature in mid-February, urging it to ‘Vote NO’ on HB 757 and SB 896, titled ‘School Safety.’ The legislation would extend what is called the ‘Guardian Program’ to the state’s public colleges and universities to allow trained staff and faculty to carry loaded firearms on the campuses, acting as armed guards.”
