As the gun violence prevention movement sees diminishing returns from the Federal legislative level, we’ve become increasingly aware that change is going to have to come not from simply demanding gun control, but focusing on prevention, education, and safety measures from a grassroots, public health approach.
Today’s GVPanorama comes from an organization who knows something about prevention. The Prevention Institute is a national nonprofit with offices in Oakland, Los Angeles, Houston, and Washington, D.C. whose mission since 1997 is “to build prevention and health equity into key policies and actions at the federal, state, local, and organizational level….”
