Some major holiday gatherings are coming up, and that means awkward political conversations with extended family.
Today’s GVPanorama, taken from Elle magazine, offers a few pointers on broaching tough topics from Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action, the grassroots arm of Everytown for Gun Safety, the nation’s largest gun violence prevention organization.
“Curiosity is a choice. You can decide that you’re going to shut down, and you don’t care to know, and you’re just going to be right, or you can actually hear somebody and listen and ask questions….”
Ferrell-Zabala’s advice, culled from years as an activist, is from a profile on her from Elle’s monthly series Office Hours, where they “ask people in powerful positions to take us through their first jobs, worst jobs, and everything in between.”
